General Dental Care
General Dentistry plays an important role in your long-term dental health, as it enables oral conditions to be identified early and effectively repaired. When it comes to the health of your teeth there are two factors: the role of your dentist and your role as the primary carer for your mouth.
Your dentist’s responsibility
Here at City Smiles we will treat problems with your mouth and then maintain your ultimate state of health by providing regular oral evaluations and dental cleans which are required to get rid of tartar and monitor your oral health. We will use efficient procedures and advanced technology to ensure that you are receiving the highest standard of care during every visit.
You will be required to maintain your everyday oral health by brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing once before bed. You will also be required to adhere to any recommendations given to you by your dentist at City Smiles in Melbourne and you will need to book an appointment with us every six months so that we can thoroughly evaluate your mouth for discrepancies and provide treatment where necessary.
In order to help you optimise your general hygiene processes we have provided the following videos:

Can I fix dental problems as they occur?
Here at City Smiles we recommend a proactive approach when it comes to your smile. This means preventing dental issues before they become problematic through basic oral hygiene. Prevention will not only save you time and money, but it has also been proven that the bacteria associated with periodontal disease (gum disease) can exacerbate or even cause other issues within the body, such as dementia, Alzheimer’s, cancer, respiratory issues and cardiovascular disease.
